Apply for the WV Higher Education Grant
To apply for the WV Higher Education Grant:
- For the 2024-25 award year, submit a completed 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the extended July 1, 2024, deadline.
After you have completed the FAFSA, if you do not have a WVSAM Account, you may create one to monitor your WVHEG eligibility and award information. After creating the account, you will be sent an email (may be in your junk/spam) with a link to create your password then log in.
Award notifications for the West Virginia Higher Education Grant are sent to eligible high school students beginning in mid-May and to all other students in June to the email account listed on the FAFSA.
