Enrolling in a certificate, industry recognized credential, or other skill development program? This HEAPS Workforce could be for you!

Gov. Justice has suspended the FAFSA requirement for HEAPS Workforce for the 2024-25 academic year. Click here for more details about how to be considered for a 2024-25 award.

The Higher Education Adult Part-Time Student (HEAPS) Workforce Development Component enables West Virginia students who demonstrate financial need to enroll in a post-secondary certificate, industry recognized credential, or other skill development program in a demand occupation in West Virginia.

Eligible students may receive awards of up to $2000 toward tuition, required testing and required supplies not covered by other scholarships and/or grants.

Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually and apply with their institution to be considered.

How to Apply

Complete the FAFSA then contact your institution’s financial aid office for the HEAPS Workforce application and other requirement information.
